Ganesh Nayak took over the work his mother had done all her life and founded AMTM in Mumbai through In Defence Of Animals (IDA).

Donated by TATA Motors. It let the team treat animals where they lay, and rid countless streeties of ticks with Spot On treatment.

A dedicated feline programme: workshops, rescue, neutering and adoptions for a species almost nobody else was working on.

Bijlee, and Operation Shera. AMTM could not watch large animals suffer human negligence, so it stepped in.

A small compound for rehabilitation and treatment, and the beginning of humane education.

Many animals recovered but could never go back to the street. Kolad gave them a home for life: no cages, hillside, open.

Years of planning became a real hospital: intensive care, operating theatres, digital X-ray, on-site pathology, gas anaesthesia.

Merged manpower and infrastructure with SARRP India and the Forest Department for wildlife rescue.

Furniture, fittings, medical equipment and solar power are being procured now. Alongside it, a farm animal shelter is under construction at Kolad.
