The Kolad Sanctuary
Our cageless sanctuary sits on a hillside in Kolad, a short drive from Mumbai. Many animals live here (dogs, cats, cows, donkeys, horses, and others), most of whom will never go back to the street. Visitors are welcome.
Planning your visit
Sanctuary visits are by appointment. Write to us and we will arrange a guided walk through the hillside, introduce you to the residents, and show you the new Kolad Sanctuary Hospital.
Wear closed shoes and clothes you do not mind getting dirty. There is no shade on the hillside, so bring water and a hat.

Junglebrooke is a pet-friendly resort next to the sanctuary, owned privately by AMTM’s founder. It donates a portion of its revenue for the animals at Animal Matter To Me, so a stay next door helps the animals next door. Bring your own dog; there are usually a few sanctuary regulars wandering about.
